Carrying out sustainable missions and projects

In the Plateaux region, waste management is a daily problem for residents. They live in rural areas without good roads or waste collection systems. Furthermore, they are not trained on the impact of poor waste management. This project aims to raise awareness among the region's residents about the need to collect waste, while providing them with the tools necessary for better waste management.
Patience Asso-Togo sets up composting stations to recycle waste while improving crop yields. Composting is the decomposition of organic matter by microorganisms. It involves recycling household organic waste. Compost restores all the elements the soil needs to support healthy plant growth.
This type of recycling therefore has two objectives: to treat and eliminate waste, and to produce a natural fertilizer. Indeed, the village of Kuma Tokpli produces its own food, however, the use of pesticides and herbicides is omnipresent. The association has set itself the mission of implementing a participatory approach to organic waste management.
The association also aims to establish irrigation systems for village crops and construct wells.
Our missions:
- Generate and share knowledge on best waste management practices through awareness-raising. Residents will be informed about composting techniques and the disadvantages of using chemical fertilizers.
- Establish a participatory and sustainable waste management approach. The approach developed is subject to improvement and cannot be implemented without the support of residents.
- Implement pilot projects to test new techniques. For example, by creating an experimental garden to test compost, serve as a communication tool for residents, and also produce food for the association.
- Implement initiatives regarding access to drinking water in villages (wells, irrigation systems for crops, etc.).
