Togo is a country in West Africa, bordered by Ghana to the west, Benin to the east, Burkina Faso to the north and the Gulf of Guinea to the south. Its capital is Lomé. The country is made up of five administrative regions and has several national languages, including Éwé, and French, which is the official language.

Togo's monetary unit is the CFA Franc-BCEAO. This is also the currency of 6 other countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Niger and Senegal. The exchange rate is : 1€ = 656.256F CFA or, conversely, 100F CFA = 0.1524€.
French nationals wishing to enter Togo are required to have a visa. They must be in possession of a passport valid for at least six months after the planned return date, and a vaccination booklet showing yellow fever vaccination. Short-stay entry visas (1 to 90 days) are issued by Togo embassies or consulates. In addition, depending on local travel conditions, vaccinations against typhoid fever and viral hepatitis A and B may be recommended. Vaccination against bacterial meningitis A + C + Y + W135 is strongly recommended.
